Summer Days

 photo SeattleSails_zps40ec2676.jpg
I wanted to show you the beautiful sails along my running route. Some days I wake up to the fresh salty air. Some days it feels like Autumn in Las Vegas. I like both.

I hope you're having a lovely summer!
What have you been up to?
I finished school, finished a huge project/presentation for a client and earned my PR certificate.
I joined a new professionals group.
My family came to visit, and we moved into a new apartment.

So far, I've seen Camera Obscura, attended a few birthday parties, gone dancing at soul night, listened to funny stories with friends in a mostly empty baseball field at 4 in the morning, a spontaneous last-minute trip to Portland (I live for these moments) happy hours with friends, summer jogs along the viaduct, went on a mini-cruise in the sound, more food festivals, touristy spots, city views, and gushed over the Bachelorette. I haven't really had much free time to myself. I always wish to achieve the perfect balance of work, relaxing and productivity.

I just found out that I'll likely get time off during the holidays. My brain started going spastic crazy thinking about all the places I want to visit. That's the old part of me that I love.

I want to take on a 30 day blog challenge. I think I can do it! Maybe, it'll help me break my silence. Here's an old favorite dress.

Mr. Brightside

After a few days of being in Vegas, some friends and I went downtown to the old bars! And that's when I ran into a few familiar faces like Ronnie & Mark from The Killers! Hello :P I haven't seen these guys in over seven years! (The day they met with the big record execs to be exact.) Ronnie remembered me from our old university days at UNLV. He bought my friend Colette and I a round of drinks. Not without a photo of course...

And there's my Vegas celebrity sighting for the week.

If you lived in Vegas back in the early millenium, this band brought so many good times and memories to our group of friends. Nights were spent dancing at Sasha's and having funny awkward conversations with Mr. Flowers. The first time I met Brandon, he greeted me with a hug. I may never see these guys again, but all the best to them! They've been through one hell of a ride in life, that's for sure. I'll always love the original "Mr. Brightside."

And then the night ended with some skeezy, run down casino photos with my funny, lovable girl friends

Hello this is me: JV

Hello dear blog number 3!

If you knew of the first one, you'd be embarrassed for me. Its locked now. Peacefully put to sleep! If you know of blog number two, then you're a good friend/livejournal'er who likes to keep in touch. I will continue to write there too! Don't worry =)

Let me introduce myself:

My friends mostly call me Jen Vegas.

I was born in Philadelphia and grew up in bright-lights-medium-big-city Las Vegas. Hence, me being liberal and free-spirited. Yes, there is an actual city/life outside of the Las Vegas strip and the insanity you see on television and movies. (Please leave your opinions and your generalisations about Las Vegas somewhere else, it's not wanted here!)

I live in Auckland, New Zealand (hence the Queen's English).

I am in the 20-something range.
I've been a vegetarian for nearly 10 years. It's a personal choice, and I don't judge others for their own lifestyle decisions.

I am obsessed with music. I can't handle pretentious conversations about music though, so leave your snark elsewhere. Not here.

I usually see more than I let on to believe. I cannot fake nor hide my true feelings about people/situations etc.

I love my family, fiance and friends to bits.

I love to dance but this rarely ever happens anymore. I love photography and used to be a professional portrait- studio photographer.

I love U.S. politics, in a dream life I'd work for C-SPAN. In another dream life, I'd be a clothing designer, but maybe instead I'll become a graphic/web designer.
I want to learn how to sew.

My favourite cities are Philadelphia, NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Madrid, Montreal, Melbourne (That's in Australia! and it's a new favourite).

I have become painfully shy (all over again) living in a foreign country. My social skills are dwindling, but as soon as I get back home I'll shrug it off in no time.

I wish I looked like Sienna Miller with the style, grace and wardrobe of Jackie O, Twiggy, Anna Karina & Blair Waldorf.

Okay that's enough about me! On with the blog now...
