Hi hi hi,
Here's an outfit from last, last weekend when the weather wasn't so bad. It's apparently winter in Auckland again! This post is well timed; I watched Gossip Girl's season five premiere last night. No matter how ridiculous the story lines become, I still LOVE this show! This blouse reminds me of Blair in her earlier days.
thrifted blouse | J Crew skirt | UO tights | Cotton On shoes | F21 sunnies | Tommy bag
Hope you're having a lovely week :)

Much Love Monday: September 26, 2011
Happy Monday :)
Starting this week off on a positive note, I need to express my gratitude and love for the small things in life...
1. Grilled cheese sandwiches with creamy tomato soup!
I was reading A Cup of Jo last night, and she shared this recipe from here!
I was dreaming about this all day, and I walked into the city and got all the ingredients for regular grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup. FYI: I think creamy tomato soup is MUCH better than regular tomato soup. There's a big difference.
I am very satisfied. Chris loved it too!
2. What can I say? I'm enjoying the Rugby World Cup! I wish I were always around for the World Cup wherever it's hosted in the world! On Friday we dressed up and cheered on USA vs. Australia. USA lost, but they're really doing quite well considering USA is not the typical country you think of when it comes to the sport. They're currently ranked #17 out of 90 something international teams in the world :)
We made quite a few people laugh and smile. Adrian, Hayley, Gabby & Eric's outfits are so amazing! Evel Knievel, star spangled starlets and Captain America! I have more pics from this night, but that'll have to be an entirely different post dedicated to the madness. Tomorrow we'll be cheering on USA vs. Italy. U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Dreaming of Crochet
I've had a lovely lazy Sunday with a sleep in, pizza for lunch, lazily looking at 1960s dresses I wish I could have from the internet. I wish I knew how to knit! Lady C says she'll teach me how to sew and reconstruct one day. That's a start.
Here are my favourite gems I found today.
All photos are picture patterns randomly from Ebay/Etsy.
I wonder whatever happened to these ladies and if they still have these photos of themselves! They're all so pretty.
Chris bought me a beautiful crochet-like dress for my birthday. (Early gift!) I'll be wearing it for my birthday trip in November!

Farewell Seattle
On our last night in Seattle, we had $2 Tecates at Cha Chas, watched funny burlesque films from the 1940s/50s. Well, the films were showing at the bar, so we had no choice! :) I loved listening to the Seattlite accent. It's quite subtle, but if you pay attention you'll notice the west coastness of it!
We ate delicious vege Thai food, chatted for hours and then later in the night C & P took Colette and I to this hidden gem of a Speakeasy! Not a real one, but one that operated in memory of the prohibition.
#1 rule- No flash photos allowed inside!

I was so happy I got to hang out with my Lady C. Too bad Christie wasn't there because we usually operate as a trio. <3 Love these girls so much!
I obviously can't do arabesques like I used to!
WHAT THE HELL?! Where'd P get that balance :)
Space needle sighting
Seattle city! This was my second trip here, and I loved it so much more this time around. I'll be back one day!

Everybody's Working For The Weekend
Hello friends, I hope you have a nice weekend! What are your plans?
This weekend I plan on- (I like to think this list will help me)
eating NYC style pizza
catching up with friends/watching the Rugby World Cup. We plan on wearing all patriotic Americana outfits for the Australia vs. USA match. Australia will totally win, but it's always a fun time.
New Zealand All Blacks vs. France Les Bleus (GO ALL BLACKS!)
our friends are playing shows this weekend with their bands :)
getting a hair cut (OH MAN totally overdue for this one)
writing some catch up emails to my loved ones
and hopefully catching up on some blogging/posting photos
chores and errands as always
I just watched the first episode of "The New Girl," and it made me laugh quite a few times. I'm a big cornball. Zooey is so freakin' cute. I LOVE that "The Waitress" from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is in this too. I'm looking forward to watching more episodes.

Seattle & The Shining
August 2011
On day three of our trip, we got suckered into this cute vintage shop across the street from my friend LSL's place!
This cute little fellow was guarding the shop! Every time I'd try to kneel down to snap a portrait, my new little friend wanted to come walk over to me.
Well, I couldn't walk away from an original 1960s air stewardess dress inside the shop! It's a bit funky, but I didn't want to regret leaving it there. (Glad I didn't!) I asked Colette & LSL if I could pull it off, and they said, "YES!" I'll get a photo in it soon. My mom will CRINGE. :)
We walked through the city shopping, snacking on piroshkis enjoying the nice weather.
And here we are in Pike Market near the original Starbucks.
AND THEN...
when we returned back to LSL's place, I couldn't help but suggest that her building was a bit spooky!!!
LSL & Colette pretending to be ghosts :)
Now, I've never seen The Shining, but I'm truly amazed because I took this photo thinking about how eirie it would be from this exact angle. And now that I've seen screen stills, I'm SERIOUSLY CREEPED OUT! And amazed that it's just like the movie! The freakin' wallpaper! FYI: I don't do horror movies. I have a visual memory, and I hope I forget those bloodbath photos I had to endure just to get this photo for you below:
MAN, the next place we live in can't have hallways like this. I'm SUCH a baby :)

Farewell Winter
Hello friends, here's an outfit from a couple weekends ago (YIKES, I'm behind) as Auckland experienced it's final days of winter. Whenever I go home, I obviously raid the F21 closet! But I just can't help it :) Here's a mix of some things old and new.
I'm wearing nude nylon knee highs :P
vintage swing coat | F21 blouse, jeans, sunglasses | Michael Kors shoes | Tommy bag
Thanks for following along with this blog. It's been a pleasure making some new friends.
Much love,
JV

Much Love Monday: September 19, 2011
Happy Monday my friends!
I'm enamoured with this stunning photo of Jean Shrimpton in the days of Swinging London. I could probably just sit around for days looking at photos of this era. Jean and her sister Chrissie were so strikingly beautiful and had such great style.

Seattle Super Sonic Space Needle
August 2011
LSL took Colette and I to see this so-called "Troll." I didn't know what to expect and was expecting some street performer/busker to be dressed up as a troll. This is what we saw!
We took some pretty city shots over in Queen Anne
and then we headed closer to the Space Needle
It was such a beautiful day. We were very lucky with the weather since Seattle has had a short summer consisting of about 3 weeks total? YUCK! Well, that's what my friends say!
