Summer Days
I wanted to show you the beautiful sails along my running route. Some days I wake up to the fresh salty air. Some days it feels like Autumn in Las Vegas. I like both.
I hope you're having a lovely summer!
What have you been up to?
I finished school, finished a huge project/presentation for a client and earned my PR certificate.
I joined a new professionals group.
My family came to visit, and we moved into a new apartment.
So far, I've seen Camera Obscura, attended a few birthday parties, gone dancing at soul night, listened to funny stories with friends in a mostly empty baseball field at 4 in the morning, a spontaneous last-minute trip to Portland (I live for these moments) happy hours with friends, summer jogs along the viaduct, went on a mini-cruise in the sound, more food festivals, touristy spots, city views, and gushed over the Bachelorette. I haven't really had much free time to myself. I always wish to achieve the perfect balance of work, relaxing and productivity.
I just found out that I'll likely get time off during the holidays. My brain started going spastic crazy thinking about all the places I want to visit. That's the old part of me that I love.
I want to take on a 30 day blog challenge. I think I can do it! Maybe, it'll help me break my silence. Here's an old favorite dress.

Gemma Kahng
I just watched Gemma Kahng's big comeback on Joe Zee's show "All On The Line." (Season 1, Episode 4 on Netflix!)
I haven't been in New York in about 4.5 years. Ouch, it kills me thinking about it! But I'm still lurking and absorbing all the beautiful fashion online.
This is from 2011
Gemma's line is currently sold in Kirna Zabete stores.
Okay after watching this, I'm going to bust out my faux fur vintage coat this weekend. :)

Hmmmm, well after the crazy international exhibit closed in January. I took a good solid week to recuperate from the insanity of crowds and cold temps. We partied hard! I went through the ups and downs of job searching and ended up getting a great new job working for a public relations company. YEAH!
For now, I'm still working one day at my other job (while working at my full-time job during the week) AND going to school part-time in the evenings. Yeah, it's kinda crazy. Saturdays keep me sane. I don't have too much free time and feel extremely guilty if I'm not working on my homework. I try to keep a balance of spending time with Chris, getting stuff DONE and resting. I'm trying to stay healthy and not feel so rundown all the time. Which sometimes means saying NO when I can't go out. :/
We celebrated our two-year wedding anniversary!
Some old friends from Vegas came to visit us. Oh, we explored Seattle, coffee drinking and eating our way through it, soul night too! Good times!
We celebrated Waitangi Day at the Kiwi/Aussie pub in town. We saw Hot Water Music/La Dispute/The Menzingers last week and my friend Aaron J. Shay played an awesome show last night.
Valentine's Day was so lovely and low key. And we celebrated Chris' birthday weekend exploring and eating great food. I can't believe we've lived here now for about 10 months. I love Seattle!

Clueless, BFC & Girl Power
These photos have been out for a while, but I couldn't help but think about my good girl friends Lady C & Crassy Wallace.
Not only have we already imitated photos like this, but last summer we rewatched Clueless missing the sass of the 90s.
Dionne, Cher and Tai, I think we are a little bit of each.
If I could remember a time in my life when I felt so empowered, it was when I surrounded myself with an army of women.
A serious reunion needs to happen soon, but we have to conquer sleep deprivation first. Visits home are always a mad dash of stress. Maybe we can convince Christie to come up here and join us! This photo is definitely Christie!
All photos are from Wildfox's Spring 2013 Collection
Anybody else watching Girls, Carrie Diaries or Hart of Dixie? I love my girly TV.

A Room With A View
During our last week living in Auckland, New Zealand, I made sure to take in the stunning views from our apartment balcony. We lived in this flat for three years! I'd spend days staring out the window in hopes of more sunshine, the city of sails floating around the harbour and being homesick.
I'd watch Juice TV, TV 3 and all sorts of NZ and British programming. The view from the Auckland CBD facing the North Shore.
City views. You can see the Sky Tower, Television New Zealand, ANZ Bank, ASB Bank and Newstalk ZB
Our flat all spruced up thanks to Veronica.
We always ate at that table near the window.
I hope we'll one day see these views again. Our landlord was my mum-in-law, so maybe she can make it possible for us :)

Advanced Style Party
Last month we dressed up in our wildest, boldest and stylish outfits in celebration of Advanced Style a website created by Ari Seth Cohen.
Watch this clip for the documentary and show your uninhibited side. Stop caring about what other people think and quit taking yourself so seriously. Have some fun :)
After watching this video, I pulled out one of the loudest pieces that I own. It's a vintage piece that would make my mother cringe. Awwww. My Aunties would also laugh at this. :)
This psychedlic 60s/70s print was found at the Rose Bowl flea market in Pasadena. The black basic top is from H&M, tights are from Ayala Mall in Cebu, Philippines. I borrowed Lady C's Zara shoes. Thanks lady!
Further details from my dream vintage Rose Bowl flea market trip can be found here. I asked Colette if I could pull this off and if it was me, and she said, "YES!" On that note, I miss Colette and beautiful sunny Southern California. I hope this life lets me visit her in the UK and another ladies trip to sunny So Cal one day.
Blogger and documentarian Ari Seth Cohen even left me a message about the party on instagram. So flattered he wrote us!
Lady C and Sarah looking gorgeous.
Fierce and beautiful
Here's a round up. I wish I could have taken photos of everybody elses outfits. It'll happen next time! Another Advanced Style party will be hosted later this month. I'll post details later. Message me if you're in the Seattle area and interested.

3 Month Catch Up
Well, hello there! I'm sad to say that I've slacked in this part of my life, but I'll quickly catch up for those of you who stumble upon this. One of my New Year's resolutions is to blog and write more.
Since my last post in September, I started school again, made new friends with my schoolmates, had two amazing Professors teach me all about the vaguely familiar world of PR, had papers and homework due each week, completed two group project presentations,
dressed up like an air hostess from the 60s for Halloween,
watched the election, celebrated my birthday singing karaoke
hung out at Linda's in Capitol Hill,
ate tofurky on Thanksgiving, caught up with an old Kiwi friend,
went to an Advanced Style party,
discovered Keys on Main thanks to my pals at work, celebrated at a X-mas party w/ my museum family,
had our hearts broken after the CT massacre, we wrote passionate blog entries about gun control, reunited with an old friend, met some new ones,
went to the EMP...went back to Vegas for Christmas, celebrated NYE in Capitol Hill singing and dancing to karaoke party times,
most of this all occurring while working and going to school full-time.
I've said goodbye to my pals at the exhibit I worked at. Some days were insanely busy, crazy and tough. I'll miss the people. Here's hoping we all move on to better things. I couldn't have started a better job in a new city with the chance of meeting so many awesome people. The folks I worked with were extremely funny, a class act and consummate professionals.
