Happy birthday to my love!

We've had an awesome weekend celebrating Chris' birthday. I planned a surprise dinner with our close friends and drinks at DOC. The next day we went to Waitomo to look at the glorious caves. Later we relaxed at home and ate burritos! Today we went out to brunch, bought a suitcase and started packing in prepartion for our new life.

November Birthday Recap

Nearly one month later, I want to thank you all so much for your lovely birthday messages. It made my day. :)

I had a wonderful birthday! At midnight, Chris surprised me with chocolates and two CD's I wanted for some time now...the new Cut Off Your Hands and The Outsiders cds.
(He bought me my much coveted crochet dress from Forever New months ago.)
Later that night, Chris surprised me with dinner at our favourite Indian restaurant and he invited our good group of friends. I had no idea they were going to be there.

At the end of the night, I posed with New Zealand's once eligible bachelor now recently taken off the market, hunky Dan Carter. HAHAHA :)

I had such a great night catching up with everyone. I'm trying not to get too sentimental since this is a big birthday for me gratefully spent with some great friends...and another birthday spent a long way from home.

As a big birthday present to myself, we planned a trip to the South Island and explored Dunedin, the Otago countryside and Queenstown. It was surreal. I can't wait to share some photos with you.

It's my birthday! (In one hour)

Welllllllll, I'm part of the new decade club. I'll acknowledge it, but from now on...I won't tell people my age anymore :)

Here I am dressed up as Sailor Moon with teddy bear Batman :) just before Armageddon Expo about two weekends ago...kinda similar to Comic Con in the US! I didn't get to celebrate Halloween this year, so this was my little bit. I'm still young at heart.

I read this blog entry a few months ago, and it helped me become NOT as terrified of getting older. I HIGHLY recommend reading it for those of you who might be bummed out about birthdays. I need to adopt her attitude.

Here are her beauty secrets, she's seriously blessed with some good genes! I think I need to invest in this eye cream of hers :)

More thoughts and milestones on this birthday:
I still listen to and love the same albums I loved when I was 18.
I have paid off 75% of my university loans. YEAAAAAAAAH!!!
I can't believe I'm still friends with my dears from LNC & MOC :P
I am married.
In XXX years of existence, I have travelled to 29/50 States.
Visited Canada, Mexico, Spain, Fiji, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand
I have always considered time with family and friends to be extremely precious and value this more than ever before.
Life is too short, and I'm beginning to see this. This is why I fear getting older. I must absorb each day, take in and appreciate every minute we are here and make it count for something good.

I already know this year will be a HUGE year for my husband and me. I'm looking forward to it. Even if we plateau or fall, there will eventually be nowhere else to go but up! :)

Last weekend of this "Age Bracket"

Hi hi, hope you enjoyed your weekend.

In a few days, I'll be entering a whole new age bracket! Funny how it feels like my teens weren't that long ago, but while at the movie theatre this weekend...I winced when I was surrounded my loud mobs of teens. I suppose, I am getting old!

On Friday, I had a few glasses of wine at work with my colleagues. I went to sleep so early while reading a graphic novel/comic book my amazing pen pal L gave me. :)

On Saturday, we cooked breakfast for our friend visiting from Wellington, had lunch with our neighbours M&J, attempted to go shopping but went window shopping instead, we watched The New Girl, and then went to the movies to see "Drive!" Oh be still those Ryan Gosling hearts :)

I took a photo with Noisy Boy from Real Steal! We didn't see Atom anywhere, but maybe he's around there somewhere.

Today I did some chore work and ran some errands. We watched the pilot episode of "Pan Am" and enjoyed the rest of my lazy Sunday. After this week, I'm looking forward to my nice long weekend. I'll have lots to write about after next weekend!
