These French men had the whole intersection happily LAUGHING as they cheerfully sang their national anthem, drunkenly bumping into each other. Yes, that's a 3-in-1 costume. Downtown was absolutely buzzing. Good times!

Be right back!

Hello! I hope you're well!
Thanks for all your lovely birthday greetings. :) It cheered me up. I know I have the coolest pen pal ever.

I had one hell of a birthday week, and we even got to travel a little bit in the South Island. It will be the closest I will ever get to Antarctica! (Unless, I have the luxury of one day visiting Stewart Island.)

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Eat a tofurky for me. Our friends will be gathering for our annual Thanksgiving-on-a-Saturday feast.

I'll be back with lots to blog about.
Thanks for reading this blog. <3

It's my birthday! (In one hour)

Welllllllll, I'm part of the new decade club. I'll acknowledge it, but from now on...I won't tell people my age anymore :)

Photobucket
Here I am dressed up as Sailor Moon with teddy bear Batman :) just before Armageddon Expo about two weekends ago...kinda similar to Comic Con in the US! I didn't get to celebrate Halloween this year, so this was my little bit. I'm still young at heart.

I read this blog entry a few months ago, and it helped me become NOT as terrified of getting older. I HIGHLY recommend reading it for those of you who might be bummed out about birthdays. I need to adopt her attitude.

Here are her beauty secrets, she's seriously blessed with some good genes! I think I need to invest in this eye cream of hers :)

More thoughts and milestones on this birthday:
I still listen to and love the same albums I loved when I was 18.
I have paid off 75% of my university loans. YEAAAAAAAAH!!!
I can't believe I'm still friends with my dears from LNC & MOC :P
I am married.
In XXX years of existence, I have travelled to 29/50 States.
Visited Canada, Mexico, Spain, Fiji, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand
I have always considered time with family and friends to be extremely precious and value this more than ever before.
Life is too short, and I'm beginning to see this. This is why I fear getting older. I must absorb each day, take in and appreciate every minute we are here and make it count for something good.

I already know this year will be a HUGE year for my husband and me. I'm looking forward to it. Even if we plateau or fall, there will eventually be nowhere else to go but up! :)

Much Love Monday: November 14, 2011

Happy Monday! Starting the week off on a positive note, here are my Monday favourites...

I saw "Drive" this weekend and was very pleased with the movie and Ryan Gosling's character. (I won't spoil the movie for you.)

Last weekend of this "Age Bracket"

Hi hi, hope you enjoyed your weekend.

In a few days, I'll be entering a whole new age bracket! Funny how it feels like my teens weren't that long ago, but while at the movie theatre this weekend...I winced when I was surrounded my loud mobs of teens. I suppose, I am getting old!

On Friday, I had a few glasses of wine at work with my colleagues. I went to sleep so early while reading a graphic novel/comic book my amazing pen pal L gave me. :)

On Saturday, we cooked breakfast for our friend visiting from Wellington, had lunch with our neighbours M&J, attempted to go shopping but went window shopping instead, we watched The New Girl, and then went to the movies to see "Drive!" Oh be still those Ryan Gosling hearts :)

I took a photo with Noisy Boy from Real Steal! We didn't see Atom anywhere, but maybe he's around there somewhere.
Photobucket

Today I did some chore work and ran some errands. We watched the pilot episode of "Pan Am" and enjoyed the rest of my lazy Sunday. After this week, I'm looking forward to my nice long weekend. I'll have lots to write about after next weekend!

Wish List

My next decade birthday is in a few days, and I wanted to treat myself to a few new items in my wardrobe. I tried looking for some basic items to start reconstructing, but I had no luck today. I have gotten rid of so much stuff and have been on an indefinite shopping ban for the past year.

Here's a few things I wish I could have :)

Dreaming of Spain

This morning somebody emailed me asking about what it'd be like to travel around Spain. It was an instant pick-me-up. I spent the rest of my morning daydreaming about my trip to Spain back in 2007. I travelled there with my cousin and aunties, and it was easily one of the best trips I'd ever taken. It was like a Joy Luck Club reunion for us. Three generations of my family met up, and the missing pieces of my old estranged life were filled in.

I've always been the type of person who'd do whatever they want whenever they wanted. (especially if I really set my heart to it) I fell in love with Spain and still wish that I'd be able take my family there one day. I hope that I can still wander even if I still have major commitments in my life.

Much Love Monday: November 7, 2011

Happy Monday! It was a manic (& boring) Monday for me, but I'll try to focus on the positive.

I just watched the pilot episode of Pan Am! I'm hooked!

I love that the guy from "She's Out of My League" is in this movie. :)

Library Bar Returns & Melbourne

The day before NZ won the Rugby World Cup we took Regan to the Library Bar. We lounged around looking at the BEST books! Books about cats in OZ and Melbourne, Australia published in 1968! I couldn't help but take photos of this book, and the people around me could see me sneaking in photos. I hope I can get my hands on my own copy one day.
