About two weekends ago, Chris and I attended the very first night of "Respect Yourself" at the Library Bar in the viaduct. The djs played mostly 60s soul and rock. I was in heaven.
I wore my gold brocade jacket. I love brocade almost as much as I love houndstooth.
We only talked amongst ourselves. I guess there is "no talking in the library."
We looked at an 1970s edition picture book of Auckland. Auckland was spectacular looking back in the 70s.
A jazz band played in the other room.
Heritage 1981 coat | patterned tights Ayala | F21 earrings
Look what we found :) Philadelphia represent!
This is my new favourite place!
PS. Two days after wearing this coat, I saw a girl walking down the street wearing the same exact one! So funny since I live about 6,000 miles away from home.

What an awesome idea for a bar! Booze and books go together quite well, I think. Well, drinking (a little) and reading. I can't believe you saw someone else wearing the same coat! It's so beautiful and looks vintage...F21 can be so darn good at that.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, there's a Library Bar here in NY too, but yours is so much nicer! (And bigger, and cleaner...) Looks like fun :)
ReplyDeletewhoa i didnt even know you were updating this blog...i feel like ive been missing out

omg this is my dream come true! how come I have not heard of this place? perhaps because i am out of loop with the world kinda person who loves libraries and books. haha a drink on the side would go down nicely. oh i so want to go! what a find
ReplyDelete@Leslie Update your blog lady! :P
ReplyDelete@Hayley isn't it marvelous? We should meet there for a drink and flip through random books :)
i told adrian about it and he wants to go now too. we can double date it one night and all be geeks! what is the best nights to go when its like not too busy so you can enjoy prime seats and book hogging?
ReplyDelete@Hayley That'd be awesome! I just had a look at their website, and it's also open on week nights from 3PM until late. Thursdays thru Saturdays would be great! I think Friday or Saturday evenings earlier around 7 to 8PM would be a less busy time, so we can enjoy the books!
