On September 9th, the Rugby World Cup kicked off in New Zealand. Downtown Auckland was flooded with some 100,000 people celebrating. Chris and I also saw rugby great Jono Lomu leaving a hotel! I snapped a photo paparazzi style.
FYI: The Rugby World Cup happens once every 4 years! It feels like Auckland is hosting the Olympics.
At work, we had our own celebrations where we dressed up representing each of the 20 countries in this competition. We even had a fun pep rally for it. We've gone to the fan zone downtown catching many of the games, sometimes dressing up! It has been SO MUCH FUN!

Tonight, if New Zealand beats Australia...NZ will continue on to the championship next week to face off France. Australia is one of NZ's biggest rivals. If NZ wins tonight, there may be riots. :P Sorry to my Aussie friends, but I'm definitely hoping the All Blacks win here! GO The ABS!
EDIT 11:14PM: NEW ZEALAND WON!!!!! :)
Stay tuned for part two!
